Welcome to Villa Kosthåll, a cosy restaurant by the sea shore in the village of Skogby in Raseborg.
We are located east of highway 25 between Ekenäs and Hanko, a good place to take a break and enjoy good food or a nice cup of coffee or tea.
Villa Kosthåll is open year around serving à la carte meals and coffee / tea with homemade pastry. Our restaurant is fully licenced. We also have a rare item in our restaurant: a real old fashioned, still functioning jukebox!
Our terrace offers a nice sea view and you can also arrive by boat. Our jetty is just by the waterway between Ekenäs and Hanko.
Teemu is a professional chef, who will be happy to prepare festive meals for your party (max ca 40 persons), should you like to rent our premises for private functions.
Skogby is a nice little village in historical surroundings. The grounds are owned by Fiskars Corporation. Our building was originally the office and canteen for a sawmill and the home of the founder of the sawmill, Mr. Mauritz Hisinger. The sawmill was closed down in 1987 and from 2009 Ulla and Teemu Leppänen have welcomed guests to their restaurant, Villa Kosthåll.
At the time of World War II, Skogby was part of the so called Harparskog-line, which was the border between Finland and Hanko, which was annexed by the Soviet army as a naval base. Still you can see the huge stones preventing tanks from crossing the border as well as other signs of battle in the forest. On request, we can arrange guided tours along the Harparskog-line, and our guide will tell you the stories from 70 year back.
Opening hours: All year around, Tue – Thu 11:00 – 20:00, Fri – Sat 11:00 – 21:00, Sun 11:00 – 19:00.
