Vihti – the northernmost municipality in Western Uusimaa
The Helsinki – Turku motorway takes you in just a little more than half an hour to Vihti, where visitors are drawn by the opportunities that the beautiful nature provides, for example hiking, skiing or bird watching. Also golf and downhill skiing is available in Vihti.
A large part of Nuuksio national park is within the municipality limits, a popular destination for hikers of all ages and capabilities.
Vihti is also the most populous municipality in Finland – counted in the number of horses!
The Vihti church village is located beautifully by the shore of Lake Kirkkojärvi (=Church lake).
The ruins of St Birgitta Church, in the vicinity of the village, date from the late medieval times.
During one weekend in August you can visit the old fashioned market, a yearly event gathering thousands of visitors.
